Gears and shafts
We are a leading manufacturer of precision gears, shafts and pinions, which form the heart of complex mechanical systems – from aircraft engines and gearboxes to energy and industrial applications. With decades of experience, we combine traditional craftsmanship with state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. Every part that leaves our workshop meets the strictest standards of quality and reliability. The manufacturing process is based on CNC turning, gear hobbing or CNC shaping, followed by heat treatment and final CNC gear grinding, whether for straight-toothed or helical gears.
Every wheel is unique
Although at first glance a gear may seem to be "just" a wheel with teeth, its geometry and design are highly sophisticated, and each gear is uniquely designed for a specific application.
Maximum accuracy
At CZ-AEROmotive, the manufacture of gears and shafts is a precise technological process in which maximum precision and consistency in every componentare key factors.
A comprehensive system of measurement and checks
Every component undergoes a thorough system of measurement and inspection which we have developed in-house and which is supported by our own specialist facility for geometric and functional inspection.
A flexible manufacturing process
The manufacturing process is tailored to the end use of the gearing, which affects productivity, precision requirements, the need for specialised machinery and production costs.
Modern manufacturing technology
In our manufacturing process, we use state-of-the-art technology from leading global manufacturers, ranging from CNC turning and milling, shaping and grinding, to heat treatment and surface finishing.
Gears made of various materials
We primarily work with high-quality steel, but we also have experience with a range of other materials, which enables us to respond flexibly to the specific requirements of our customers and their applications.
Gear teeth made exactly to specification
We manufacture gears with straight and helical teeth, with maximum geometric precision and repeatability. Our manufacturing processes include:
CNC turning and milling – precision gear hobbing
CNC shaping and grinding – finishing with micron-level precision
Heat and surface treatment – optimisation of hardness and service life
Every step is designed to ensure that the final component can withstand even the most demanding applications where failure is not an option.
Grinding of cylindrical and tapered bores
We have automatic grinding machines for grinding cylindrical and tapered bores. We make the most use of this technology in our aerospace manufacturing, where the highest possible precision is essential. We have many years of experience, particularly in grinding bores in gear wheels and bearing housings for the aerospace industry, and in finishing work on components for the defence industry.
We work most frequently with steel and cast iron, but we also have experience with bronze.
We prepare production assessments and cost estimates based on the drawings you send us.
Maximum grinding length: 80 mm
(the length of the ground hole depends on the diameter of the
hole).
Maximum diameter of the drilled hole: 80
mm
Minimum diameter of the drilled hole: 10 mm
(after reviewing the technical drawings, we are able to grind holes
as small as 7 mm).
Drilling, boring, reaming, tapping, milling
We have vertical milling machining centres that enable the precise and rapid machining of complex surfaces and shapes in three axes. Our centres are capable of drilling, boring, reaming, tapping and milling workpieces.
Automatic tool change from the magazine enables operation in an automatic cycle. When used with special accessories, the machine allows the use of high-performance tools with a central coolant supply.
What we can make
Our technologies are suitable for machining smaller, highly intricate and complex flat or box-shaped components. We have the most experience with these technologies in the aerospace manufacturing sector, where we regularly produce a wide range of components for turboprop engines. However, we also have experience in manufacturing for other industrial sectors, such as the automotive industry (engine and gearbox components), the defence industry, the engineering industry (housings, mountings) and the hydraulics and industrial fittings sector (manifold blocks, control and connection components, valves, industrial fittings, etc.)
We primarily manufacture using steel, cast iron and aluminium alloys, but we can also machine other materials on request.
